I’ve been reading The Economist for many years, but I noticed that they are expanding quite a bit these days and doing quite well.  I particularly like the fact that they now offer an audio edition, free to subscribers, read by professional readers (not computers!).

Seth Godin just contemplated about the opportunities for the New York times:

1. If it’s in the Times, it’s true
2. If it’s in the Times, it’s important

Interestingly, in my world the content of the Economist achieves exactly that, and I guess that that’s one of the reasons for their success.
